Joanna's Hodgepodge started out about two years ago when Joanne retired from 47 years of nursing. She began to notice that people in the neighborhood where putting out perfectly good furniture and household items for the garbage. This was appalling, especially after having worked for so many years with people that couldn't afford a chair . She recruited her long time friend and neighbor, Lilia Gudino, and the green raccoons furniture rescue was born. Joanne and Lilia began routinely "curb side" shopping and donating to the local charities. They were bringing in 3 to 4 van loads in per week until the charities were overwhelmed. Desperate to find a source for these incredible finds they turned to furniture consignment and began to restore, refinish, redesign and paint furniture. A thousand pieces of furniture latter delivered to numerous stores, an unintentional business was formed. Today Joanne operates Joanna's Hodgepodge and Lilia and her daughter run Two Chic. They are now helping to save the environment and enrich peoples lives with home decor that they meant otherwise not be able to afford.
